San Agustin may have the first beach along Gran Canaria south coast, but with Maspalomas famous dunes next door, it's no surprise this resort has kept itself quiet and compact. There's a pleasant 2km of dark sandy beach here (which splits into three main beach areas) which is nicely sheltered and is ideal for family bathing - expect a good choice of watersports available in this pristine Gran Canaria resort too.

Not too far from San Agustin you will find the long established wild west themed park, Sioux City.  Up the valley from neighbouring Playa del Ingles is Palmitos Park and the Aqualand Water Park (the largest in the Canary Islands).  Also fairly close is the Mundo Aborigen experience which aims to inform the visitor about the Guanches, the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands. Within reasonable distance of windsurfing hotspot Bahia Feliz is the older and much more established, and some say more upmarket, San Agustin. A Gran Canaria resort with character, San Agustín has all the amenities you'd expect from a good resort base including a large choice of accommodation, various commercial centres offering numerous shops, restaurants and bars.
