Playa Del Ingles is a very popular location for your holidayin Gran Canaria with lively nightlife, or a quite restaurant over looking the ocean. The weather is sunny all year round with lots of places of interest for the young and the old. This part of the Island is flat, unlike Puerto Rico which is hilly. Playa del Ingles beach, the famous dunes and a nature reserve were protected while the holiday resort was developed around them in the 1970s. The night life in Playa Del Ingles is situated around numerous commercial centres and is chocca block with music bars and pubs especially in the Kasbah area which is the livelist place on the Gran Canaria island. You can however, find quieter bars along the promanade and down the beach area

Playa del Ingles beach stretches for miles and end at the sand dunes of Maspalomas, with the dunes stretching back inland.
The main resort beach is a blue flag winner and the beach is reached via steps. It is very clean and has an array of beach bars and restaurants. If you like watersports there are a plenty. There is so much to do in the daytime. Near to Playa Del Ingles there are two water parks, one small one and the largest water park in the Canary Islands. You can have a great day out here with all the waterslides and the white knuckle rides too. If you like shopping then Playa del Ingles has a large selection of tourist shops scattered around the town or concentrated in some of the many commercial centres. Duty Free goods are a great buy

Puerto Playa del Ingles

The resort of Playa Del Ingles is one of Europe's largest resorts, 2nd only in size to Benidorm in Mainland Spain. All amenities are easily accessible. Young or old, this location has something for everyone. Car hire certainly isn't necessary unless you want to tour the island. There are many companies offering excursions in Playa del Ingles. Indeed, our own house managers offer Island tours - take in the stunning mountain views and visit the small villages hidden away from the resort. There is plenty of activities to keep you occupied such as the Water park (Aqua land), Holiday World, several golf courses with Campo Golf only 10 mins away by car.
Or spend a day at Palmitos Parque that has over 230 different species of Tropical Birds and various other small animals and plants.

There is a fine choice of shops in Playa del Ingles where visitors can indulge in some duty free delights, including cheap electrical shops and stalls selling imitation designer wear and African curios. The shopping is mainly confined to the dozen or so Commercial Centres rather than spread out along the roads and each centre has its own distinctive character. Yumbo is the biggest and most popular and also houses the Tourist Information Centre. Five minutes away are the Kasbah and Metro centres, but the widest selection of quality designer wear is in nearby Plaza Maspalomas. The San Fernando Market is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning and the Atlantico Shopping Centre is just a 15mins bus ride

There is a wide choice of places to eat in Playa del Ingles, from fast food (including McDonalds), Chinese, Italian and local cuisine, and rows of restaurants offering international cuisine. One of the favourites is an English bar/restaurant called BRITANNIA which can be found in the Gran Chaparal Centre along with the WINDMILL a lively pub run by Kim where a warm welcome is assured to people of all ages. For those who have had enough of the beach there is loads of entertainment and activities for all ages, including amusement arcades, mini-golf, tennis, golf, scuba diving, skydiving, water parks, go-carting, horse riding and camel riding.
